Our Pilates Studio

Pilates focuses on developing long, lean muscles through control, flexibility and core strength. By making you more aware of your body, Pilates can become an invaluable component of any workout regimen. Whether you are looking to build strength, lose weight, increase flexibility, or seeking rehabilitation after an injury we’re here to help.

At Pointe Ahead Pilates we offer a mix of traditional Matwork, Reformer, Tower or Chair classes. Our Open Studio Sessions utilise all the various equipment (Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels) under the supervision of one of our amazing teachers. We also offer private 1:1or 1:2 appointments. No matter your ability, our team are here to help so contact us now if you have any questions.

Advanced Barrels

We are also a Host Training Centre for Merrithew, offering STOTT PILATES® Training Courses. We host many different courses throughout the year, go to our Education page for more information.

Reformer Studio

Reformer Classes

The thing that really sets Pointe Ahead Pilates apart is our equipment. While the Reformer might look scary, it has proven benefits for increasing strength and endurance. It has a moving carriage with springs to provide variable resistance. A fabulous way to work out dynamically utilising the whole body whilst providing stability for joints.

Tower Classes

The Tower is similar to the Reformer as it uses springs to provide resistance and support. The stable mat makes it less daunting and is a great launch pad to some of the more advance exercises on other pieces of equipment. This is great for rehabilitation as the smaller movements can easily be controlled and once you have the hang of it there are some fun variations to spice things up.

Mat work

The most common form of Pilates due to its accessibility, requiring only a Mat. Focus is on improving posture, flexibility and core strength using body weight and breath to provide resistance. Our traditional Mat classes are suitable for all levels of fitness and experience.

Barre Class

Created from ballet-inspired moves, Barre classes focus on strength, flexibility, stamina and dynamic stability. Driven by music this a very functional way of training and it can increase coordination, motivation and movement quality whilst having a lot of fun!

Pilates really is for every body which is why we all love it so much!

"I’ve been working out with Rachel for 5 years and gone from not being able to run for a bus to running a half marathon. Her excellent care, dedication and brilliance has allowed this to happen. She has got me through my first pregnancy with no divarication of the rectus muscles and no pelvic floor issues and will forever be remembered as the person who yells “abdominals” in my head when I lift my daughter."
